The comfort of predictability and pain we already know can sabotage the development of healthy habits. We settle for the familiar pain instead of the potential unknown pain of change.
Each of these fad diets has the same formula: elimination of food types, reduction of a macro, and restriction of calories. Let me clarify: What makes a fad diet different from another fad diet, is simply what macro or food sources you eliminate or reduce with calorie restriction
With positive wellness-based habit formation, we must apply a deliberate set of actions based on a known instigator, a planned response, and a reward aligned with our outcome objective.
The problem is not on having an “off” day, it is in our tendency to wait until motivation strikes again before we resume our efforts. This is dangerous because we are tying an emotional catalyst to our goal instead of changing our habits, which can breed procrastination.
Manage how you feel about your goals. they should be something to enjoy, not endure.
On fruit: If you are inactive and overeat, even fruits can contribute to excess energy that leads to fat accumulation. Usually, the fruit did not cause fat gain, it was perhaps the half-gallon of ice cream underneath the fruit or the six ounces of chocolate sauce. Not the fruit.

Some would argue the advantage of an unhealthy lifestyle is that you get to eat whatever you want. This is a farce as eating what you wanted is what got you in this problem to start with and your declining health or excess fat is a consequence, not an advantage.
